- Session 1: Important considerations in the sourcing, purchasing, use and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Session 2: A look at specific instruments (traditional and new) and their role in supporting the technical, production and quality roles within flavour, fragrance, food, beverage, cosmetic, personal care and other FMCG companies.
The following analytical methods will be discussed: Density, Refractive Index, Polarimetry, Viscosity, Raman Spectroscopy, Particle Characterisation, Rheometry
Equipment will be available for viewing and hands-on demonstrations.
Analytical lab instruments encompass a wide range of instrumentation whose principle purpose is to qualitatively and quantitatively analyse samples. The wide range of available equipment also allows for a wide range of testing methods and their respective applications.
Because analytical lab instruments vary in available analysis, it is important to identify key information that must be obtained from your lab analysis. Once you have identified the appropriate type of instrument for your analytical needs, the following factors are key considerations as you evaluate various offerings from available manufacturers: accuracy, sensitivity, resolution, signal/noise, bench-top dimensions, portability, and multi-parameter testing capabilities.
