My Career Aspirations:
I am a hardworking and dedicated chemist and am currently busy with the final stages of revision of my thesis towards a MSc. degree in Chemistry. During my Master’s studies I worked closely with a company in the hydrometallurgical field doing research and development on metal extraction. I learned a tremendous amount about the professional working environment during this period and also gained knowledge about the hydrometallurgical field. I would however strive to broaden my horizons in terms of the chemistry fields available in industry whilst applying the knowledge I have gained on how to operate in a professional research and development role. I would love to acquire new skills such as working with various new analytical techniques apart from the ICP-OES training I have received and delve more into organically centered chemical operations, such as the fragrance and flavour industry, as organic chemistry has always been an interest of mine. I would love to start a career at a business that would allow me to grow over time starting as an intern or junior chemist to hopefully one day become a senior chemist in a research and development role. I would like to make an impact at any level that I am working at such that my contribution aids the team that I am apart of to reach the objectives set by the company. I would love to be apart of a company that allows me to grow by attending various courses and colloquiums as required to better understand the projects that I would be apart of.

Summary of Work Experience:
I was a student assistant at the North West University in 2019 and 2021 where I aided first and third year students in their chemistry practicals. I occupied a marking post in 2020 at the North West University where I graded assignments and papers.
