My Career Aspirations:

My career ambition is to build a successful career within the South African flavour and fragrance industry by applying chemical engineering principles to the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of flavour and fragrance products. I aim to contribute to processes that ensure consistency, product integrity, and compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

In the short term, I seek to gain practical, hands-on experience in areas such as blending and formulation support, process operations, raw material handling, quality control, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). I am eager to learn how chemical engineering principles are applied in the development and manufacture of flavour and fragrance products.

In the long term, my goal is to grow into a technically competent process, production, or quality-focused role where I can support process optimisation, continuous improvement, and sustainable manufacturing practices, while contributing positively to the growth and reputation of the South African flavour and fragrance industry.

Summary of Work Experience:

Cape Peninsula University of Technology around July 2022 – December 2022 as a Tutor (6 Months contract)

I am a motivated and dedicated Chemical Engineering NQF Level 6 graduate with a strong willingness to learn and grow within the flavour and fragrance industry. I am eager to gain practical, hands-on experience and to apply my theoretical knowledge in a professional manufacturing environment. I am reliable, safety-conscious, and committed to maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene, and compliance. I would welcome the opportunity to contribute positively to the organisation while developing my technical and professional skills. Once had a project where we were to produce of 99.5% Ethyl Acetate with ethanol and acetic acid. The whole project was really fascinating and enjoyable to do as it included software like aspen, DWISM for material and energy balances and distribution and excel and PowerPoint to present after laboratory experiments. The whole time I was really interested to be in these processes and would like to be able to afford my school tuition fees so I can advance to the next NQF for more information and for the benefit of my profession.
