President’s message

I take this opportunity to wish you, your friends, family and co-workers a very Happy New Year.

Having recently taken up the role of President of the International Fragrance Association, I have been inspired by the energy and creativity of the fragrance sector I am now a part of. I hope and expect to see this dynamism on display in 2025.

Although I only took up this post in late 2024, I would like to briefly reflect on what the association has achieved in the past twelve months, supported by its members and partners.
IFRA’s efforts included strengthening advocacy efforts during the European Union elections, launching the IFRA Green Chemistry Compass, and advancing sustainability through the IFRA­IOFI Sustainability Charter.

We held the IFRA Global Fragrance Summit in Dubai, a large number of member-only and public webinars, and expanded regional initiatives to support our global engagement. Scientific work continued, including on allergens clinical surveillance, as well as the updating of the IFRA Transparency list.

Looking ahead, 2025 presents opportunities to enhance IFRA’s reputation, address regulatory challenges, and further develop the defence of fragrance ingredients.
